Lubalin
Lubalin is a Montreal-based artist and producer. His debut album "haha, no worries" was released on december 6, 2024.
Blending pop-leaning drum & bass influences, 2000s-era electro-pop, indie, and alt. rock, Lubalin juxtaposes urgent, sometimes frenetic rhythms and vocal loops against deceptively laid-back vocals and instrumental tracks, with lyrics that blur the line between child-like wonder and decidedly adult self-doubt.
Counting over 32m audio streams across platforms, his previous work includes two EPs, and the viral ‘Internet Drama’ TikTok series which has since earned him over 260 million views. The series landed him appearances on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and recognition in major outlets like Rolling Stone, The Los Angeles Times, and more. A gifted songwriter and producer, Lubalin has also worked extensively with 6-time JUNO winner Charlotte Cardin. After co-writing the title track to her debut album ‘Phoenix’, he went on to co-write and co-produce much of her 2023 sophomore record ‘99 Nights’, most notably the breakout ‘Confetti’. The project culminated in JUNO wins for Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year, as well as earning Lubalin nominations for Producer of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
His debut album "haha, no worries", rich with drum breaks and emotive vocal loops, explores themes of confidence, doubt, and connection. No stranger to putting his face on the internet, Lubalin’s approach to promoting this new project notably features an oversized suit, signaling his desire to be taken seriously.
